Chloe Smith: working at NKU is ‘refreshing’

July 13, 2018

Chloe Smith, assistant athletics communications director, helps everyone know when the times of games are, the stats of players and all information about events relating to sports through social media.

After graduating college, Smith pursued a professional sports career. As it ended, she had to find something else.

“I realized that I really did love college athletics and I wanted to be a part of that,” she said. “I decided to move back and do sports information director work because that was something that incorporated a lot of different fields.”

She previously worked at the University of Kentucky (UK) and Eastern Michigan University. At UK, her job was more on the media relations side, instead of covering different aspects a sport covers.

Smith prefers being able to work on videography, journalism and photography. She also enjoys interviewing people and dealing with the media.

Smith is passionate about her job. She loves working with multiple different sports and she said that it is “refreshing.” She enjoys that NKU does not have a football team so she can focus on all of the teams equally.
