Politics has always been a central component of my life. Both my parents worked for the government in some capacity. As a child, I would sit and watch MSNBC news with my father for hours on end. At age 6, had you asked me who my role model was, I would say Hillary Clinton or Martin Luther King, Jr. By age 8, I had written an article on racism, which was later published in the newspaper for Albany, New York. During middle school, I took an interest in women’s rights and the Black Lives Matter movement. This past year I wrote a series of papers for my AP Government and Politics class on the Trump administration and other current affairs. I hope to continue my collection of articles on social issues and eventually add to my portfolio later this summer.

My interest in journalism stems from my lifelong obsession with politics, and I have always  wanted to pursue opportunities that let me explore the two more in-depth. Along with this, my other hobbies include sleeping, doing my makeup, and listening to music. If you ever meet me, you can most likely guess my music taste within the first few seconds of seeing my old Dr. Martin boots, John Lennon sunglasses and Nirvana tee shirt.

My favorite social media is definitely Instagram. It was the first form of social media that I was ever exposed to, and I’m constantly on my phone checking my feed.

My dream job at the moment would be something involving communications, public relations and/or the entertainment industry (specifically music), though I may have something else in mind by tomorrow, as my interests tend to change hourly.

One interesting fact about me is my right leg is about half an inch shorter than my left. So most of the time I can be seen leaning at a 85-degree angle.
