NKU women’s basketball team hosted a camp for kids in grades 3-12 where students learn fundamentals and practice drills with members of the team on Wednesday.

The camp is four days long, Monday to Thursday from 9am-4pm. Melody Doss, a junior forward from Greenwood Indiana is a coach at the camp.

“I think it’s a good way to get the kids involved and get us girls involved with the kid,” Doss said.

At camp, the kids do skill activities like ball handling and lay ups. They have small teams and do 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 scrimmages.

“We love being with the kids and just interacting with them because they really enjoy it and look up to us, and we just try to do the best that we can,” Doss said.

“I think it’s really a great size because we have a lot of individual attention for our players,” said the head coach Dawn Plitzuweit. She has been doing this for two years now.
