Charlie Goldsmith
Print journalism is not dying, and neither is radio, especially in my eyes. With a passion for broadcast and print journalism, I hope to be able to professionally pursue these interests. My name is Charlie Goldsmith, and I will be a junior at The Seven Hills School next fall. Academically, I am excited by both French and history. However, my passions fall outside the classroom. I play competitive tennis and participate in the school choir. Also, sports captivate me. A “professional” fan as well as an amateur writer and commentator, I follow the Reds, Bengals and Bearcats, as well as the NBA. I desire to pursue this interest professionally at some point in my life. At NKU’s journalism camp, I aspire to acquire the tools to “roll with the punches” as media evolves. I aim to diversify my understanding of modern media techniques and acquire a base of information to use later. I know that by learning about and using new modes of media, I will see that “old wave” media is not dying but, instead, is taking off in new, exciting directions.
