NKU women’s basketball begins pre-season workouts
Forward, Kailey Coffey explains what the NKU culture and support mean to the team
July 25, 2019
It’s the middle of July and the women’s basketball team is already gearing up for the 2019-2020 season. The seniors have laid a strong foundation of support throughout the team. A shot made. Cheer. A shot missed. “It’s OK, you’ll get it next time.” The support the team has for each other has trickled all across the Northern Kentucky community.
The young team is looking to finish stronger than the previous seasons, in the hope of winning the Horizon League. The team went 11-18 and finished fifth in the conference last year. With that said, improvement can be made.
Many returning players have had the opportunity to get a lot of playing time throughout the course of their freshman and sophomore seasons, and are looking to mature those skills into this upcoming year, junior forward Kailey Coffey explained.
The Lady Norse will start out their season in the beginning of November.
