Brendan has had a passion for everything and anything technology for as long as he can remember. This passion has led him to where he is today.  He is currently finishing his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Media Informatics at Northern Kentucky University.

“To this day, I still have the same dream that I’ve had since I was a little kid, to work with video games,” Dickinson said. “I love all forms of entertainment, whether it’s movies, TV shows, music, etc. But I have a soft spot for video games in particular.”

With some background in IT and an idea of where he wanted to go in the future, Brendan ended up as a computer science major at Marshall University.

“Marshall was a great university, but it didn’t have a very strong CS program,” Dickinson said. “So after a year and a half, I transferred to NKU.”

Brendan continued with CS, and after a while, he realized that it wasn’t everything he wanted from his education. He started looking through the universities other programs and discovered media informatics. This was the answer he had been looking for.

“It included everything the CS department was lacking, and after taking a few classes, I declared my double major,” Dickinson said.

Brendan was recently hired on as the web editor for the Northerner and Norse Code Radio.

“This experience has helped prepare me to work as the web editor and designer during the course of this summer camp,” he said. “It has helped procure my love of web design, opening a whole new world of technological possibilities.”

After graduation, Brendan plans to continue working with video games and to become more involved in the video game industry.
